Mark Evans is a marketing consultant, author, speaker and storyteller. He helps B2B technology companies generate high-quality leads and sales. His work with fast-growing companies began during the dot-com boom (in hindsight, not the best timing!) when a friend convinced him to leave newspaper journalism to launch a software company. He worked with three startups before getting laid off in 2008. Armed with a small severance package, He started a consulting business. Soon, he was approached by entrepreneurs looking for help with marketing strategies and tactics. The rest, as they say, is history.
He writes a blog about marketing and one of Canada’s leading newsletters, which features curated content. Mark is the author of Storytelling for Startups, which helps entrepreneurs embrace story-driven marketing. He is an advisor to The Next 36 and Venture for Canada and a mentor with the OCAD’s Imagine Catalyst program. When not working, he plays a lot of hockey and tennis and takes long summer vacations – most recently a six-week tour of Southeast Asia.
